St.
Augustine Decline
St. Augustine Decline and Centipede Take All have become a growing concern
to folks with these two types of grass. This disease can slowly spread
through the lawn and thin it out to a point that re-establishment of
grass becomes necessary. It is closely related to the causal agent of
spring dead spot, and no effective prevention is available at this time.
Entire lawns can succumb to this disease, but it usually occurs in patches.
Unfortunately, we cannot prevent this disease, but we can manage the
fertility and weeds in your lawn so that you can maintain as healthy
a lawn as possible, which is one key to preventing this disease.
We make every effort to scout lawns for insect and disease problems
to prevent damage from these pests if at all possible. If you have
noticed thin areas in your lawn any time during the year, please
let us know so we can check on it for you.
