Lime

Lime is important because it raises the soil pH in your lawn. The better the pH, the healthier your lawn looks.

The pH gets lowered due to the high amount of nitrogen based fertilizer that is applied for color throughout the year. Each grass type has a desired pH range. The higher the pH, the higher percentage of fertilizer applied to your lawn will be utilized. This means a greener and healthier lawn.

The best time to apply lime is the end of the year. This is because it usually takes 2-3 months for the product to soak into the soil. This will allow it to be utilized with the upcoming growing season. If your lawn requires lime, it is best to address this need as soon as possible.
